Is Depression keeping you from living your life fully?

What is Depression?

Depression is feeling intense sadness that lasts for several days, weeks, or months that keeps a person from functioning the way they normally would. When people are depressed they may also feel helpless, hopeless, and worthless. People can lose motivation, which makes it really difficult to do the things that they know would make them feel better (like socialize, exercise, or work.) This just compounds the negative feelings they have about themselves. Depression can be triggered by stress, hormonal changes, genetics, emotional setbacks, or tragedies. It can happen to anyone. Please do not blame yourself. You are not alone, and you do not have to "fix it" on your own.

Depression is nothing to be ashamed about. The sooner you recognize that you have depression, the faster you can overcome it.
